Since the famine wanton destruction which stroke the Wollo Region in the 70s, Abebech Gobena’s personal commitment has grown to meet the constant challenges of Ethiopia. Through her humanitarian response and development programs throughout the country, she continues improving the health, education and well-being of children and their families, making a difference in the lives of over 5 million Ethiopians.The history of Abebech Gobena Orphanage is a script of positive change. She has built community-based education and health programs to improve Ethiopian kids lives, both in Addis Abeba and remote rural areas.

Our response is to implement adequate strategies that converge on fortifying parternships with volunteers. Through our overlook, we want to create stronger community-based solutions coupled with advocacy on  national and international level. The results mean significantly more impact for our programs and their ensured sustainability. Specifically we want to focus on education, health, food security, HIV/AIDS prevention/education and saving newborn lives.
